Small Circuit Boards - What Is the Smallest PCB Size That Bittele Can Fabricate

Over time, technological advancements have led to smaller and smaller components leading to smaller circuit board designs. We now see highly miniaturized devices throughout all areas of electronics. To accommodate this shift in electronics design, Bittele has developed a set of specialized manufacturing practices. These allow us to produce printed circuit boards in a variety of configurations down to very small sizes. Our minimum fabrication size for printed circuit boards is 0.2” x 0.2”. We are able to produce these small size circuit boards with a variety of specifications to suit your needs. Many of our standard rigid laminate materials can be used supported by assembly for most common SMT packages which can fit the size of the printed circuit board.

However, it is a common misconception that as the size of the PCB decreases the cost of the board will as well. This is primarily true for larger boards, but once a PCB is smaller than 0.4” x 0.4” the costs increase substantially. As the size decreases the manufacturing techniques required to ensure the boards are accurately fabricated become more complex which contributes to the increase in costs. In addition, very small circuit boards have poor panel optimization. To avoid this added cost, we would recommend when you place an order for a larger PCB, you should include your small circuit board designs as part of the panel. In addition, by designing boards above these small printed circuit board sizes, you can expect a much more cost-efficient PCB fabrication and assembly order.
