Pre-Assembly Confirmation FAQ

  • The first sheet encompasses all the BOM modification records after the Order Release.
  • The second sheet is known as the Standard BOM. The Standard BOM comprises all components previously submitted and any approved alternatives or replacements during the Design for Assembly (DFA) and procurement stages.
  • Alternative components are incorporated beneath the original parts, with their quantities exclusively indicated within the original BOM line.
  • Replacement components will be denoted by an "Item #.1," for instance, #3.1, accompanied by the updated Part Number (PN). The original #3 will be marked as "Do Not Install" instead of being completely removed.
  • "Do Not Install" signifies that instead of eliminating those lines, we flag them for parts that will not be assembled onto the boards.
  • If components transition from purchase to consigned status, an additional line will be added below the original line.

Including "#0 - bare PCB" in the BOM is a default practice for all orders. Sometimes, it may be redundant with your original PCB line; it is a standard addition.

The default protocol is to reset the BOM version to "Bittele PBOM V1" for repeat orders and to account for any subsequent changes following the order release.

Decimal quantities in the "Quantity per board" are typically encountered for special accessory components, such as McMaster parts, glues, or wires, sold in packages. This adjustment is necessary to reflect the total quantity of packages required for purchase accurately.

The Gerber name is constructed using the following format: Quotation number_Version_Receive date_Your original Gerber name. Each new Gerber received from you is considered a new version, resulting in a change in the version number.
