Bittele Communique to US Customers Regarding the Possibility of US Import Tariff Changes

Dear Valued Bittele Customer:

Recognizing that legislative shifts have in the past and may continue in the future to impact international business in a non trivial way, we wanted to reach out to you and address recent announcements by the incoming US administration with respect to, in particular, promises of new or higher tariffs on products entering the United States from Canada, Mexico and China.

As you may already know, Bittele runs a vertically integrated and well diversified operation with manufacturing facilities in Toronto and Shenzhen that are matched in equipment and process implementation. This allows us to pass onto our customers several important and unique advantages, including:

  • Ability to attain fast turn-around with onshore service on projects focused around speed, prototyping and active product development
  • North American content for products that mandate local procurement for strategic or other reasons
  • Opportunity to manufacture with us in the Far East, with attractive cost optimizations and high-volume capabilities
  • Total flexibility and customer choice of geographical location for all needs - prototyping or production
  • Seamless transition between our facilities at any time - without need for updates to design files or introduction of unnecessary risk

Bittele remains committed to stay competitive in face of all legislative changes and meet your needs with uncompromising quality, timeliness and service. Should new impositions and increases in tariffs on products entering US from Canada and China respectively be so severe as to bring into question the competitiveness of our overall value proposition versus comparable American sources, we will remain open to negotiations around taking further near-term cost management measures, including but not limited to some level of shared tariff relief.

As a part of its longer-term global operational strategy, Bittele also plans to expand its manufacturing footprint to unaffected geographies, with first such facility in Vietnam operational in 2025.

We understand the realities of international trade regulation, but will work tirelessly to ensure they cause little to no disruption to our ongoing partnership. We wish to thank you once again for your business and trust.

Sincerely,
Bittele Executive Team
