Bittele’s Tariff Refund Policy

In light of the recent changes to tariffs collected on assembled PCBs in the United States, Bittele Electronics has introduced a sweeping new policy to reduce the impact of tariff charges for our clients. We understand that unexpected tariffs can have a significant impact on your business, and we pledge to work with you to alleviate that impact as much as possible.

Bittele is now offering to refund up to 50% of any tariffs that are applied to your order. If you receive an invoice for tariff charges due, simply send a copy to your Bittele account manager, and you will quickly receive a determination on the level of refund we are able to provide. Bittele’s recent orders have not seen any significant impact from the changes to the US tariff schedule, so we do not currently plan to change our standard pricing model, but we have introduced this new refund policy to ensure that our clients need not worry about unexpected import duties.

For PCB Assembly orders, we recommend Bittele’s Turnkey PCB Assembly Service to further reduce the impact of tariffs. This way, you can let us handle all of the Parts Procurement and shipping to our production facility, and you won’t have to worry about import / export for your components. If you do choose to consign your parts to us, you can ship them to our location in Canada to avoid any complications, and we will forward them to our production facility from there.

  • All requests for tariff refunds must include all pages of the tariff invoice you receive. (Example)
  • A refund may only be issued to the account used to place the order.
  • Tariff invoices must be received by Bittele Electronics Inc. within three months of the invoice date.
  • Bittele Electronics Inc. reserves the right to amend or cancel this policy without notice.
  • Eligibility for refund is determined on a case-by-case basis by Bittele Electronics Inc.
For payments issued by Credit Card: The tariff refund amount will be issued directly to the card that was used to place the order. The processing time of Credit Card refunds is 5 working days from the receipt of the invoice.

For payments issued by Cheque, PayPal, or Net Terms: A credit memo for the refund will be issued towards your next order. The processing time of credit memos for Net Terms will be equivalent to the term period, (30 days for Net30, etc.) starting from the receipt of the invoice.

For payment issued by Wire Transfer: Refunds totaling $1,000 USD or more will be issued by Wire Transfer to the account that was used to place the order. Refunds totaling less than $1,000 USD will be issued as a credit memo towards your next order due to the additional transaction fees.
